Trust is the entire product, and the website gives a stranger nothing to trust — no names, no faces, no prices.

An invented business, used as a sample. All four examples →

The website, on a laptop

The 'after' is generated live from the business's own details — the same code that runs when you fill in the form — in the "classic" style. Nothing here was drawn by hand.

The same page, on a phone

This is where most local searches happen. A page with no viewport tag loads zoomed out — the text is there, but nobody is reading it one-handed.

Before

No viewport tag: laid out at 980px, then shrunk to fit

The search profile

The panel that appears beside search results when someone looks you up by name. For most local businesses it gets seen more than the website does.

  • One photo, and it's the outside of an office park.
  • Four reviews. For a trust business that is close to having none.
  • Listed as 'Accountant', which is not what most of their customers search for.

Monthly bookkeeping and payroll for Tampa trades, restaurants and owner-operators. Two people, no call centre, first call free.
  • Three categories, and 'bookkeeping service' is the one people actually type.
  • Photos of the two people who do the work, because that is the product.
  • Reviews requested from existing clients at year-end — the one moment they're grateful.

Not about followers. About whether the account gives someone who already found you a reason to come in.

What actually changed

The prices went on the page

Most firms in this trade hide them. Publishing them is the single biggest differentiator available, and it costs nothing but nerve.

The jargon came out

'Comprehensive financial solutions tailored to your business needs' describes every firm and no firm. 'Two people, no call centre' describes one.

Three spellings of the name became one

The site, the Google listing and the Yelp stub each had a different version. That splits reviews and confuses search about whether this is one business or three.

This takes about ten seconds for your business

The check is free and needs nothing but your web address. You'll see the same kind of list — in the same words — for your own business.
